8 New Square is a specialist set practicing in the field of intellectual property and related areas. The core areas are patents, copyright, trade marks, designs, passing off and confidential information. In addition, members of Chambers cover associated areas including IT, Internet law, data protection law, European law, Media and Entertainment and administrative law (principally where ancillary to Intellectual Property cases). Commercial and other cases with a significant scientific or technical content are also dealt with. The work of Chambers is varied, interesting and demanding.

Most members of Chambers and pupils have a science qualification to degree level or higher, but this is not mandatory: many successful intellectual property practitioners have studied other subjects. However, applicants without a science degree will have to demonstrate in some other way that they have the ability and confidence to cope with technical/scientific subject matter.

We are inviting applications for third six pupillage commencing 1 October, for a period of 6 months.
