With a strong scientific background, Tom has a significant practice in all areas of IP with particular emphasis on patents, trade mark and comparative advertising disputes and misuse of trade secrets. Tom’s patent practice focusses on both telecoms (including FRAND disputes) and pharma/biotechnology/vaccines disputes. Tom has appeared before the CJEU, General Court and UK Supreme Court, the EPO and Irish High Court and has also represented clients in arbitration in Singapore and Hong Kong.

- Sandoz & Ors v Bayer (Riveroxaban) [2024] EWHC 796 (Pat): represented Teva in preliminary injunction dispute following launch at risk by third parties.

- Actavis v Novartis (Rivastigmine) [2015] EWHC 1068 (Pat): patent infringement and validity claim regarding a transdermal patch for rivastigmine, a treatment for Alzheimer’s disease.
