Michael Tappin KC successfully represented Nokia in a patent infringement action against the Defendants “Oppo” who counterclaimed for invalidity. The patent in issue, which was not essential, was for a mobile phone transmitter.
Nokia sought to prove infringement by doing experiments and by obtaining disclosure from a third party in the US courts using the procedure under 28 USC § 1782.
Meade J found the patent valid as granted and infringed.
