Mark Chacksfield will be speaking at SJ Berwin’s annual round up of the major developments in the last 12 months relating to trade marks, designs and copyright. The team of speakers, including leading intellectual property barristers, will provide comprehensive analysis of the key decisions in 2010, together with practical guidance on how to succeed in cases before the Courts and before the UK-IPO and OHIM.

Mark’s talk, titled ‘My Name, Your Name, Old Name, New Name? is a consideration of where the so-called own name defence stands in the light of recent case law, and in particular the Court of Appeal’s decision in Hotel Cipriani v Cipriani.
