Beth Collett successfully represented the charity United Sikhs in the appeal against their successful opposition to the United Sikhs USA headquarters’ application for a UK trade mark. Iain Purvis KC, sitting as the Appointed Person, upheld the Hearing Officer’s decision on section 5(4)(a) and confirmed that the application should be refused on that basis. Simon Malynicz KC and Alice Hart represented the Appellants. All parties were represented on a pro bono basis.
